It's a great day to be alive and on the road. I'm looking forward to both the drive and the show tonight. Fred McDowell on the stereo. Cranked.
Mountain goats all over the road. They don't seem to be afraid of the cars. It seems they come down at this time of year, after the first skiffs of snow up on the high ground.
Always a good thing to see your name on a sign on the way into town...
Here we are. Strands. There's Tony's limo next to mine.
I'm in early, and so get set up and head over to my hotel to relax before showtime. This is a very nice little room, and owner Tony Wood is an amazing chef. This is, I believe, one of those "foodie" destinations. Pretty serious about quality to say the least. I tease Tony that the only reason I come here is to get one of his meals.
True to form— at dinner the soup is amazing, the salad, killer.
Before long it's showtime! The Tour camera has been left at the hotel, so no pics of the evening. Drat! Local media come and shoot a video— later posted up on Google. Somebody rip that for You-Tube would ya? I play some (personal opinion) great slide guitar tonight, and everybody else seems to enjoy the show as well. Encore of "Three Cards on a Coffin," and I'm done.
Tony and I have a glass of wine before shutting things down and heading out. Thanks, Tony, that was a nice evening.
